The sports below run from May through August. All sports are open to athletes ages 8 and older, with youth-specific programs available for softball and soccer. Athletes may register for a maximum of two sports per season. Due to overlapping competition dates, athletes may not register for both softball and bocce. If rosters reach capacity, athletes may be asked to choose one sport.
Join us for softball this season! Our competitive program practices on Thursdays and includes weekly practices and two competitions. Our 5-week youth skills program (ages 8–14) is held on Wednesdays and focuses on building skills and confidence for athletes still learning the game.
Roll with us and join the bocce team! Practices are on Wednesdays. Athletes can compete in singles and/or doubles, including all-athlete and unified team options. We’re also looking for unified partners and coaches—sign up below to get involved!
Join us for golf this season! Practices are held on Tuesdays at Hadley Creek Golf Course. Athletes will build golf skills and etiquette in a fun and supportive environment. Returning athletes may play rounds of golf, while first-year athletes focus on skill development only. Family members or friends are welcome to participate as unified partners—sign up below to get involved!
Who’s ready for soccer? Practices are on Fridays. We’re teaming up with North Star FC to offer a 5-week TOPSoccer program for athletes ages 5+ with physical and/or developmental disabilities. The program is geared toward player development rather than to competition.
Leadership University
SOMN offers Leadership University to athletes once a year at a Minnesota college or university.
Leadership University is a one-of-a-kind event where athletes choose what leadership topic they would like to grow in and receive innovative training to get athletes where they want to go.
Each Athlete is required to be accompanied with their Unified Partner, and together they will learn, develop skills, and apply their knowledge in their teams and communities.
General sessions are included at Leadership University, these sessions include guest speakers, learning how to be an athlete representative, the history of ALPs and other pertinent information.
Please note athletes need to be 18+ to participate.
For registration and further information please visit the Athlete Leadership page or contact Kelly.
Additional Sports information: The Rochester Flyers are happy to offer the following sports to our athletes. Practices are typically once a week at various locations in Rochester.
